A first step towards change
Hello, my name is Polly and I run Success in MiND EF Coaching.
I am here to work with you to effect the positive change you want to see while giving you the knowledge to be kind and compassionate to your already overwhelmed and over stressed mind and body. Together we will explore the foundations of good EF, learn how to calm your triggers, how to set goals that inspire you, use evidence based approaches to develop strategies and help you build gentle accountability for your own future progress. No judgement. No Shame. No Failure.

Thriving not just Surviving
My Background
As a teacher, beginning in Early Years, working through Primary up to Year 6, I was always determined to help those children who tried so hard but found organisation, time keeping, emotional regulation, getting started or staying on task very difficult. I recognised their experience as very like my own and I wanted them to feel supported and empowered.
For a number of years I focused my teaching on support for learners with Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, ADHD etc) and Autism. I developed a strong interest in the role of the brain and nervous system on our ability to carry out Executive Function tasks and reflected on this in my Masters in Education with studies in the Special Educational Needs and Inclusion field.
For 15 years I was a Senior Lecturer at a North West University, teaching both undergraduates and post-graduates, leading the department Disability and Inclusion work and training teachers. During this time I undertook doctoral level research into the role of Adverse Childhood Experiences and Early Trauma on EF and Emotional Regulation in the classroom. I also spent a lot of time as a Personal Tutor supporting students in developing their EF skills to meet deadlines, plan essays, manage their lives as young adults.
As a person who has personal experience of neurodivergence, in a family full of people with a variety of diagnosed and undiagnosed neurotypes, I know how important it is to feel seen, understood and valued just as you are.
As an accredited EF coach I am passionate about empowering my clients to discover how to stop the struggle and work with their brain and nervous system to achieve their goals so that they can thrive, not just survive.
